We’re always looking for new singers who are excited about singing with top-level conductors and participating in a singer-led organization.

We emphasize excellence and high performance standards, but the culture of the group is welcoming and friendly. You'll enjoy the people you'll be singing with.

We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 – 9:00 in St. Paul.

Our season is divided into two 10-week projects, which allows for a mid-winter break around the holidays.

Fall 2026 Project with Dr. Rene Clausen conducting: Rehearsals begin Tuesday, September 8.  Mandatory Concert Week Rehearsals: Tuesday, November 10th & Thursday, November 12.

Concerts November 14 at 7pm & November 15, 2026 at 4pm.

Spring 2027 Project with Dr. Brandon Dean conducting:  Rehearsals begin Tuesday February 16.  Mandatory Concert Week Rehearsals Tuesday, April 20 & Thursday, April 22.

Concerts April 24 & 25, 2027 at 4pm.

I joined SIA because I was so impressed with the musicianship, excellent rehearsal techniques, and overall enthusiasm for singing from each of the singers. I encourage anyone who is looking for a choir that is at par with a professional-level choral experience to come audition. You will be very welcomed!”

Our Audition Process

We are looking for singers who:

  1. Have experience in choral singing at least at the college level.

  2. Will conscientiously prepare in advance of each rehearsal.

  3. Have the ability to learn music quickly and independently. 

  4. Are available to rehearse Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and will place a high priority on rehearsal attendance and preparation. (Check your calendar in advance for any schedule conflicts).

Individual auditions last approximately 15 minutes and will include:

  • Vocalises and vocal patterns

  • Sight reading for notes and rhythm

  • Range testing

  • Short interview with audition team
